Red Hat 8 doesn't come with a News Reader program?

I can't find a newsreader program on my installation of Red Hat 8.

Must I use Mozilla?
Currently I'm using Evolution for my email client. Is there a dedicated newsgroup or discussion group client in RH8?

I don't know if it comes on the red hat disks but the .rpm file for pan can be found here.

While cruising the "package manager" I found the program 'pan' and installed it. It required CD 3 but I had that on hand.
The only problem is, there's no menu entry made during installation; I have to boot by using the run option and typing in the word 'pan'.
How would I create a run icon on the quick launch bar?
BTW, thanks for the replies. I like this 'pan'.

I am not to familar with redhat particularly, but you should be able to access the properties of the tool bar by right clicking it or something? I know in kde you can right click the tiny triangle by the faint horizontal lines (that act like a slide used to partition the buttons from the tacksbar...) and goto add "special button" then non-kde application then it'll make you find the special app in you directory... I am sure there is something like that for you stuff, but I am not familar at all how they have Red Hat's stuff set up...

Just locate the executable (type "which pan"). Should be in the /usr/sbin or /usr/local/sbin. Once you find it, you can add it to the menu by right clicking on the menu and find the "add to launcher" for the menu.

Thanks... just as easy as kde, which I'm more familiar with.

Funny, I'm using RH8 right now, and I just feel good doin linux.🙂😀😉
