Red Hat 7 boot disk problems

I downloaded all the files I needed to install Red Hat 7 including making a boot disk out of the boot.img file using rawrite. So, I restart, the disk loads, it tells me to hit return and I do. It loads some file (I forgot what it was) and then it it gets to vmlinuz and about halfway through loading it it suddenly restarts my system instead of going into the installer! What's going on? I really have no linux experience (experimented with Mandrake a little), but I've never had this happen and I don't know how to fix it.

try mandrake IMHO. Its easier and has more hardware support.
Oh, does the RH7 have support for the promise card in A7V?

As for downloading all the RPMS and the base files, all of the mirrors suck, every single last one. Red Hat's main ftp is impossible to connect to. All of the others are poorly maintained. Some don't have Red Hat 7, others have missing directories, and most just don't want to let anyone use them. I downloaded off the nasa mirror but it took a couple nights of downloading to get everything I needed (and I've got a broadband connection). Hell, even the stupid 1.44MB boot disk took me an hour to download! I already tried Mandrake and I just wanted to see if a new Red Hat would offer anything different. I guess I should have stayed with Mandrake since I've heard Red Hat 7 is nowhere near ready for primetime and is giving a lot of people a lot of headaches. I have no idea about the promise controller since I couldn't even get the OS to install. It gave me some errors when it was copying some files and at that point I just gave up (it was 3 in the morning!). I'll try it again tonight and update you guys on my experience.

if you guys have the iso of red hat 7, email me at sniyogi@yahoo.com. I have a server sitting on a dedicated T1 line that I'd be happy to serve the iso...

Or.. you can post a message here and i'll contact you.

I downloaded the 2 cd images for RH7 from the cronus site at cmu. No problem, took about an hour for each one using RoadRunner cable.
