Red Hat 7.1 minimum requirenemtns of ram

I dont know what the requirements for redhat 7.1 are, although I am sure that you can find them on the site. If you are installing on a latop, especially an older one, you should scheck out the linux laptop pages, http://www.linux-laptop.net/. In my opinion this is the best site for installing linux on laptops. THere are many issues that you will come across in getting linux to work on a latop, especially an older one. I know it can be done.
In terms of speed, I think you should be fine. I have redhat 6 running on a pentium 100 with like 32 of ram. Also for linux, I think that ram is a much better idicator of the speed you will, then processor speed.

I wouldn't do it with less than 24mb-32mb of ram.... if you are running a gui then no less than 48mb-64mb depending on the gui you use.... if you use gnome+enlightment you'll probably want 96mb or more

I just picked up Red Hat and the Red Hat bible. In the book recommended memory is 32 mb and 64 if using a gui.
