Hey guys and gals. I picked up a copy of Red Dawn at walmart last night, and after watching it, it seemed like it was missing some scenes. Is my old age getting to me, or does walmart sell edited dvd's now too.

BTW this movie kicks ass

Wally world edits everything. What can you edit out of Red Dawn anyway?

Red Dawn? The 80's movie with Pattrick Swayze about Cuba and Russia taking over the US?
I have to be honest, I'm someone who loves movies, and I can only give Red Dawn 1 out of 4 stars.

Ahh, ok.
I just remember a scene where there's a commie soldier and some chick in a coffee shop and a tank rolls up and parks in the spot outside the window.

I have to mention this. It was the first PG-13 movie ever, and I saw it at the theater when I was 13 (1984). It's a John Milius film, who also brought us the Conan the Barbarian.

1st PG-13 movie ever? Had they just setup those ratings or something?
I remember watching that movie all the time with my friends when I was a kid. Then we'd go out and play war in the back yard. ;)

"Last time I heard that there are 1 billion screaming chinese"
"There were"

The movies replica Russian T-72 tank was such a precise replica that when it was transported to the studio, two CIA agents followed and wanted to know where it had come from.

I wish they'd do another one. The oridgional Conan Saga cronicals his life so old Arnie isn't too old to play him. I only hope they'd make it like the first one and not Conan the Destroyer. That one was awful. Really bad effects, sets, etc...

John Milius owns you all! Red Dawn kicks much ass, and Conan the Barbarian is the best movie evar!

(Pssst- Mandrill, Milius wants to do another Conan movie. He always meant for there to be three of them, and word is some of the higher-ups in Hollywood are liking it too. Every time I think about the possibilities I have to run to the bathroom:eek:)

It was made at the height of the Cold War.

The USSR had invaded Afganistan using hijacked airliners. Much of Central America was under communist influence.

Take into account the time and you understand the storyline.

The USSR thought a war with 'The West' was winnable.

I think it's a classic movie for the time.
