Question Red CPU light

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong thread - newbie here!
I recently bought a new PC and it was working fine until today. The monitor disconnected (HDMI no signal) and the USB ports stopped working. The red CPU light is on.
I have a Ryzen 3rd Gen CPU and a MSI Tomahawk Max motherboard, so I shouldn’t have to update the bios?
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

That Red LED isn't necessarily for the CPU. That's just showing the system has power. Do the fans spin up?

Ah, good to know. Everything seems to be okay. All fans are working!

Exactly which CPU you got? And what is your video card?

I’ve got a Ryzen 5 3600 and an old AMD Radeon RX 580.

Okay. Have you tried clearing CMOS yet?

Nope! I’m a little helpless, idk how to do that. I’ll watch a YouTube video and try that!! Thank you

Usually motherboards have a CMOS jumper and/or a CMOS reset switch. Make sure the system is turned off (it can be plugged in) before resetting CMOS.

Try that. If you still don't know what to do, we can talk about jumper caps and how to properly short a jumper.

Wait, sorry. I have loose wires in the back? Could it be that?

Are you saying the plug isn't plugged in all the way, or are you saying that the wires have actually come loose from the plastic plug? It's hard to tell from the picture.

I’m going to send it back, thanks for all of your help though. Resetting the CMOS didn’t work 🥺
