Red Alert 2

Hey guys, been a long, long time since I played this gem, so I tried to reinstall it and it's been CTD without fail about 30 seconds into the tutorial mission.

Here are my specs:

XP SP3
Red Alert patched to 1.006
HD4850
2 GB Corsair Valueram (PC3200)
A64 3400+ 2.2Ghz @ 2.4


Any help would be great. I have no issues with current games (Witcher/COD4/COD:WaW/TF2/Crysis/Crysis: Warhead and so on, so it's not a hardware issue.

I was running in compatibility mode for Win 2k when this happened...

1 of 2 possibilities...

The original red alert 2 / yuri wouldnt run on dual core, you had to disable one of the cores.

or

2 your securom files are causing problems.

Try downloading a no-cd exe for the game. That seems to prevent any securom problems on most titles.


you should not have to use any APP COMPATIBILITY for this title, as ive been running it fine without it for a long time.
