I don't know where to post this, but here should be OK.

I have two comps each running win2K connected via D-Link cards and a crossover cable. When I try to do create a network connection in the game, neither computer sees the other one. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

First of all, tell me do you have the network properly configured and functioning? If not, get past that first.

If so, then we don't need to worry about that.

Unless, Red Alert 2 uses IPX protocols and IPX isn't installed on one or both of your systems.

Can you find out what protocol RA2 uses?

The network is working fine. I'm sharing an internet connection between the two computers, and have file sharing enabled in both.

As far as protocols go, I believe it does use IPX, which is installed on both machines.

It is IPX for sure.. but it won't even let you click on the "Network" button if it's not installed

Marty,
did you use any patches?? It must be the same version that you used on two machines...

I did patch it. Its version 1.003. One thing though; I installed IPX on the machines after installing the games, could that be an issue?

If you have a router or hub can't you just connect like that? Also do you have to have two different cd-keys? Cuz my friend has an allied CD and I have a soviet CD..

I tried using a Linksys switch between the two computers, with no results. And yes, I have the two different disks.
