Recycle bin on each drive.....

Windows 7 OS and for each drive i see there is $recycle.bin. isn't this folder normally not seen?

It's a super-hidden folder (ATTRIB -S -H); to see it you have to go into organise > folder and search options, then go into the view tab.

[x] - show hidden files and folders
[x] - hide protected operating system files

I personally have the first option enabled, and only enable the second if I think I need to, otherwise you end up seeing files like desktop.ini all over the place, etc.

if I format, I ensure to show all system files, then go to each drive that wasn't formatted and delete the old recycle bin since it's redundant and only the latest one is needed. You would know which is the latest one as it would have a padlock in the icon

The folder also gets recreated on any drive that a file is move to recycle bin on.
