Recurring themes in dreams, you guys have them?

Last night i was reading a guide on lucid dreaming. First step is dream recall. You could lucidly dream all you want, but it'll be useless if you can't remember the dreams. So, according to the site, i should literally tell myself that i will wake up remembering what i had dreamt about. Already able to recall some of my dreams, this wasn't a very difficult task to partake. Anyways, one dream that always repeats:

MY CAR GETS STOLEN OR BROKEN INTO!

My first car, a crx, was stolen. I'm guessing that it was a much more traumatic experience than i make it to be, hence the recurring dreams. What type of dreams do you guys usually get?

I'm having recurring dreams - well, not really, but lately, all my dreams have been with all my ex's . . . it's prolly because of this, though.

Yes I do. I actually have a couple recurring storylines that I dream about.
I don't think much of them. I actually think they are cool dreams and enjoy when I have them.

Sometimes, in the morning, when I am half awake and half asleep and start to dream and actually figure out that I'm dreaming and conciously control what I do and what happens in my dream, makes for interesting dreams. It always seems that I wake up not too long after I realize that I'm dreaming.

I have a very constant theme in most of my dreams that I remember. Its about me being chased, but the odd thing is that I dont feel afraid or anything. And then there is another thing very odd, I have like 5 constant areas I am at. Its not as in in the same house again or anything like that its more like when I'm dreaming I get the feeling I have been there before and I for some reason in my dream remember old dreams I have had and sometimes they connect. As in that some old dream and the current dream are in the same "world", I just could walk, drive or run to the place where the other dream happaned at. And there about 5 of those "worlds".

2 nights ago, I had a dream that my kids had small pox.
Last night, I dreamed that I had caught it from my kids. Oddly, I woke up immediately from that dream, suddenly having the rational thought "that's weird, last night... and now this... "

Is it common to subconsciously analyze your subconscious thoughts? And why does that look like it's spelled wrong?

Sitting under large cork tree with a pride of lions resting with me as i watch the sun rise/set over the veldt.

Or, fighting aliens with a doomed troop of space marines. I wake up just as those double jaws get ready to strike...

I never lucid dream. Even when I realize I'm dreaming I never get control of it. I usually just wake up instead.

I have two frustrating recurring themes in some dreams.

#1: I want to punch something, but as soon as I try to punch it's as though I'm pushing through glue, rendering my assault as effective as a baby's. (Not even toddler strength man)

#2: I can't see very well because I can't stop blinking.

Those dreams always drive me nuts, and I usually wake up shortly after I realize it's a dream. Aside from that my dreams are pretty random. Oh... except for that occasional "I can fellate myself" dream. That could mean so many things.

A dream you can control. Usually it means you know you're dreaming and pick what you want to dream about.

Just one of her? Man, you have no idea how this works, do you? :p

Y'know, my little brother can lucid dream. I bet that's why he sleeps so much. ;)

Either you can or you can't. There's no real way to induce it except on your own.

Sucks, I know. :(

When I was younger and whenever I was sick, I would always have this recurring god awful dream. All I remember was that there was a lot of red and for some reason or another I was folding this piece of paper into halves. Like a real piece of paper that you keep folding in half, it gets harder and harder to do so. This dream only happened when I was sick and happened everytime I was sick. It was the most awful feeling

The other night I was having a dream that I was walking down the streets and there was a hick looking at from his truck that was jacked up like 4 extra feet. All the sudden he was like "WHAT THE FVCK ARE YOU LOOKIN AT BOY?". All the sudden he jumped out of his truck. Well while I was running these other to hick kids from my school like close lined me and kocked the wind out of me. Then all the sudden there were like 6 hicks around me and they all started to kick the sh!t out of me. Well somehow I got up and reached in my pocket and there was either a knife or a pair of scissors. Next came the brutal stabbing and murder of 3 hicks with my sharp metal object. The three other backed off after seeing 3 of there friends dead on the ground laying in their own blood. Don't fvck with me in my dreams.
