On 4 occasions when booting up cold, the USB Optical
Mouse is not found. A message appears saying to install a
serial mouse. On reboot numerous other device drivers
are missing such as video, sound etc. I am running an Abit
KT7A Raid MB, 1Ghz Athlon CPU, 256 RAM, 30GB Western Digital HD, Sound Blaster Live, MS Optical USB mouse, MS Internet Keyboard, Zoom V.92 Modem, Windows SE.

Appreciate any wisdom on this one!

It's a 300 Watt ATX. I'm reading about this problem with the Abit KT7A
elsewhere. There are many issues regarding USB problems and sharing resource problems with PCI slots 4 and 6. I have placed an adapter on the USB mouse and connected it to the PS2 port. I'll post an update as to how this runs. I'm reading reports of some batches of these boards having a 33% failure rate!
