I'm seeing some cards that have rectangle shaped memory and some with square?
Which is better?

I think its the 9600 model im seeing it in.
Im getting a video card with my coming paycheck and It's looking good to go with the 9600, I'm deciding between the 9600pro or maybe the x-tra $50 for the A-I-W card that's coming out this week. :) I always liked buying something the day it comes out. Expecially sense the 9800np's are sold out and skepitical at best.
I'd rather buy the real macoy when the prices drop by doom3 time just to have the cool gargoyle box.

Samsung or Infineon doesn't matter, really. The BGA packaged memory is more expensive, but allows for higher frequencies. I'd expect plain 9600 boards to use normal TSOP packaged RAMs (rectangular, visible contacts), and the Pro flavor to use BGA. There's an inbetween flavor from some makers, using a Pro core but clocking the RAM slower like on a non-Pro.

Thx, for the info guys.
The more I look at these cards, I get more confused. I just want to play HL2, but dont understand why you need FPS past 30-40 cause the human eye can only see like 24. I think thats what the movies and tv use. But thats a "?" for another thread.

Im lookin at that cool looking gigacube model, but I'm leary on buying stuff from some 3rd parties. I really want to stick to made by ATI stuff.
