Rectangle Craziness On Display, but why?

Hi, I just built an upgrade to my old Sony, which I had already upgraded the video card and sound card on. The upgrade had a AMD Athlon 64 3000+, Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR NFORCE3 motherboard, ATI RAdeon 9600 Pro, Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Sound Card, 2x 256MB Kingston ValueRAM Dual Channel DDR400, one old 80g Maxtor 5400 rpm hdd, one old 30g Maxtor 7200 rpm hdd, Samsung CD-RW Drive and an Antec Sonata Case. When I hooked it all up, it worked fine for a week or two, but then right in the middle of a game, all these little rectangular peices show up on my screen. If i dragged a window, it would make it worse. I tested a different monitor and it still did it. Later in the day, I started getting BSOD errors with hardware on 0x0000000000 (or so many 0's). I tried a different video card; AGP and PCI. The PCI worked for a while , then my monitor stopped receiving signal from any card whatsoever. Before that happened I had also tried different RAM and hard drives. I sent the motherboard back thinking that the motherboard went bad, but everything on the motherboard except the AGP and PCI slots were working as far as I know. I was just wondering if there are any flagrant compatibility issues with this setup or if I can re-order the motherboard and try again.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

Did you do a reformat and reinstall of windoze after installing the new hardware?

If not, you're prolly experiencing driver conflicts/problems.
