A friend of mine in the IT field is looking to move to NYC. Can anyone from the NYC area recommend any good recruiters or maybe online search engines for IT related work?

thanx

There was someone around here that said his GF was a headhunter in NY, IIRC.. Maybe put NY in your topic and he'll notice it.

Found the post.. It was chinman75 that said it back in January. Try giving him a PM.

I want a job too--I graduate in May. So far I've been using my school's recruitment web site which is partnered up with jobtrak (www.jobtrak.com) which in turn is part of monster.com, so its a pretty good site. They have some really good postings and are probably the biggest site nationally for those who are recent graduates.

If your friend has two to five years previous experience in IT, I would suggest dice.com--they're pretty good with the IT stuff. I don't know much about any regional job listing sites--your friend may be better off searching a newsgroup for local postings (here in the triangle area of NC we have triangle.jobs.) All the national sites let you limit your search to a specific state or city though, so they should be fine.

EDIT: Dice.com (IT specialty job search engine) has a METRO job search page for NYC! Here is the link.
