Recovery Partition on a new HDD?

Is it possible to take the recovery partition from an OEM hard drive and apply it to a new HDD? I basically want to upgrade my HDD is my Lenovo laptop, thanks.

Yes, when you create an image you select the partitions you want included. Really easy with Windows 7 or 8's built in imaging utility.

The recovery partition is in an external drive. I need to be able to image the ~10GB recovery partition from an external drive, and then reimage it to another seperate, larger external drive that will go into my Lenovo Laptop

I ghosted a Toshiba laptops recovery partition, created a partition at the end of the new drive, and ghosted the image to the new partition, then recovered the drive useing the recovery partition.

You should be able to migrate that recovery drive to another drive with no problem. You might just need to use the right application tool to do it correctly with no hassles.
