Hey Guys, My mother's computer' hard drive has bad sectors popping up. I was wondering can i clone the Recovery partition to a new drive? or is it going to be very difficult and not worth the hassle?

thanks Gang

You may be successful as long as the bad sectors do not get in the way.

I would image the entire drive using Macrium Reflect ( Free ) or the imaging software of your choice and then create a new hard drive with this image. This should preserve the recovery partition ability.

what OS? If it's Windows 7, and there's a sticker on the side of the case, then you can download and burn an ISO and re-install using the key on that sticker.

If it's Windows 8 or 8.1, you can use MS's site to download recovery media, and then re-install using that. (Should auto-detect the key in BIOS, if it's a branded OEM PC.)
