I work for a company that builds specialized computer systems for the government, animation, cad, etc, etc. We would like to provide each computer sale with a "recovery cd." We pretty much just want the user to be able to pop it in and boot from it and the only things it asks for are the givens, such as product key, computer name, and all that crap.

Right now were looking at norton ghost as a good option to do all this. The only os's we preload are Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

We would like to be able to make a dvd that would allow the client to select from one of two images. Either install windows 2000 or windows xp (yes this is legal, if you buy windows xp, the key is also valid for 2k so you can use one OR the other).

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

just a non-industry opinion here, but host is prolly your cheapest/easiest route. The only problem/pain I can think of is that either you purchase a copy for every computer you build or install the software on a new client computer, burn the image, then uninstall it. But maybe ghost images dont need the parent software to load the image back up, I don't know. But if you are doing a lot of volume on one particular computer config, a single company computer, one master hard drive that you want to image, and a burner that does like 10+ at once may be the easiest that way. Just throwing out ideas, hope it helps a bit.
