GF gives friend her external usb drive to her friend to backup some stuff. Apparently friend's BF uses drive to install new computer and starts windows installer and repartitions said drive. Oops! Unplugs computer after partitioning happens but before windows begins installing.

Now the drive is in my hands and there are no visible partitions but my gf wants the data back. Possible? I've only ever recovered folders/files deleted by accident...

I'm going to try out some free programs and see what I can recover.

First Program

Says it can recover anything... we'll see ;)

So far so good, it found every file, just in the process to of recoverying to see if the data is good.

WOW... Got everything with a free program too. Data recovery has come a long way.
