Overview of the problem
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reinstalled windows and my 2nd hard drive with all my backed up data is now unallocated space.
Full description of the problem and symptoms
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday, i backed up all my data to my 2nd hard drive which is a 160GB Seagate drive. I then unplugged it and reinstalled Windows Vista on my first hard drive which is a 200GB Maxtor drive.
I reinstalled all the drivers etc for Windows. I then switched off the computer and then plugged the Seagate back in.
Upon booting into Windows the drive wasn't being seen in My Computer but under Disk Managment its there but showing as Unallocated Space. The only options i have when i click the drive are Help, Properties and Format
Did it work normally at one time, or has the problem always existed?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The system and the drive have been working perfectly until this happen
I already tried these steps:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have scanned the drive using GetDataBack for NTFS and it recognising that there are files on the drive.
Using GetDataBack i was able to see the file names in the MFT entries, not sure if this means anything but its a good sign i think
My software:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Completely fresh install of Vista, no other software installed at present.
My hardware
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Asrock 4Core Dual Sata.
E2160
8800GT
2GB Corsair XMS
Stock Cooling
550W PSU (unsure of brand, cant remember)
