Recovering Data off an old drive

I've got someone's hard drive from a ~5 year old HP desktop (motherboard has blown capacitors). When attaching the drive to my comp via a IDE>USB adapter, it loads a 7gb HP_restore partition, and a 104 gig partition that windows cannot read. Disk management says the partition needs to be formatted before it can be used.

Any tips to recover data off this drive?

About a year and a half ago I had a nearly full 300 GB Seagate drive fail on me. I used the program "Get Data Back", to pull up everything that was on the drive and allow me to recover it all. Lucky situation I guess. This might work for you...
