Recovering data from a floppy disk

Anyone have any tips on this?

I have a disk that someone says was intermittently working for a while, but now they can't get it to work. Apparently nothing was backed up when the disk started to go bad. Any tips or tricks will be helpful! Thanks.

A program called SpinRite from http://www.grc.com could do it if anything could, but the prog is not cheap.
It should be in any techie's tool kit regardless of the cost.

I use Badcopy Pro for reading corrupted floppys disks, its available HERE at a very reasonable $39.50
