Recovering data from a deleted partition?

Hi,

in an attempt to bring another harddrive to "factory defaults" for selling it on EBAY, i have also erased the primary partition of my "data storage drive" with 100gigs of photos, mp3s etc. on it...i think i don't have to mention i am DESPERATE!!!

What can i do? Is there a way to recover the data via a program or something like Knoppix?

The facts:

- drive had only a primary partition (partitioned with XP SP2) and formatted with NTFS
- the files have NOT been deleted in Win XP before, i was only dumb enough to delete the primary partition using "diskpart"
- i have not restarted the drive since

The best would be to recover the whole partition information complete with directories and filenames...i so much hope this is possible!

Please help me :Q

Firstly, dont do ANYTHING to the drive until you have decided how to recover, you may make things much worse messing with it. Good chance you can get most of it back with some free tools available online.

Google - partition data recovery

also there are special utilities, which can recover deleted partitions for example recovery expert
with it you can easily recover accidentally deleted or lost partition.

there are another progs to recover files and folders like getDataBack, here
