I have 2 hard drives in my computer. One 20gb 7200 rpm one that came with my computer, and a 40gb 7200 rpm Maxtor I bought a while ago. The 20gb one , C, is the one with the OS on it. And the Maxtor is partitioned into 2 drives, D and E at 30gb and 10gb. I was using windows 98 and decided it was time to format. I put everything I wanted to keep on the Maxtor and formatted the C drive, the one with the OS. I loaded everything up again with Windows Me. When i click on the other hard drive It says "This Hard Drive is not formatted, Would you like to format it?" As far as I know format means erase everything to rebuild it. I really do not want to erase everything on there, some pretty important stuff is on there. I tried using fdisk and I went to that drive and displayed the info and it has both of partitions for the hard drive listed. How do I set up the hard drive for Windows Me to see it? I havent set anything up in fear up losing everything and I thought I would ask just to be safe. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Try PartitionMagic, or Lost & dfound.

Can also try to install Win ME in the Maxtor, by removing the other from the system.

Is there any way I can do it without having to buy any other programs?
