My HD was having problems and Win XP will no longer boot up. I hooked it up as a slave on another pc and was able to copy files from the partitions and other folders except my old 'Desktop' folder. When I try copying this folder I get an 'Access denied' msg. Sure this is NTFS related. I tried adding my account as owner in under security options for that folder but still getting error msg. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!!

You should be able to take control of the folder...

Not sure why the desktop would be denied but not other folders within that profile, assuming your trying to get things like favorites and/or my documents. Should have the same security permissions but as mentioned, you can take ownership of that folder

Thanks everyone. I figured out how to take ownership of each folder and that did the job. Thanks....
