recover outlook express data and put into a new install of win98

win98 was reinstalled but in a different windows dir, is there a way of retrieving the the previous outlook datafiles? a coworker reinstalled win98 again due to a virus, but now he's wants the outlook messages and etc back if possible. the new win98 install is in /windows.000 and the old install is in /windows.

Start->Search->type in ".dbx"->write down the location of the foler containing .dbx files->go to tools in OE->option->maintenance->store folder->change the store folder to the one you've found containing the 'dbx files.

Using OE, File>Import>Messages then select the correct version of Previous OE installation. Click NEXT, Import mail from an OE5 store directory then browse - usually OE data in located in Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Mail

If you don't have that subdirectory, check Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Identities\
