I had a computer with multiple users and the motherboard died. It was using Windows XP SP3 and MS Office 2003 Outlook for email. My users would like to get their emails and address books off the old HDD. How do I go about doing this and where do I find the files that store each user's emails and AddBooks's. I can't find any .ost or .pst files but maybe they're hidden somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

What are you trying to do? Has the "new" computer got a bootable OS? Will the computer boot from another drive? You should find the Outlook files under: Drive letter>Document and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

There you should have Outlook.pst, and possibly an Archive.pst. Back these up for each user. To merge the Outlook file to a new computer, use Outlooks file menu, select Open, then Outlook Data File. Then use drag and drop to move the emails from the old .pst file to the new one.

Bearach, the new computer has W 7 SP1 and Outlook 2003. I haven't been able to find the old .pst files yet but I'll keep searching. Thanks for the reply!

Part of the path is normally hidden, once you get into the username folder, Local Settings is hidden and inside there, Application Data is also hidden. Show all files may need to be on to navigate to the path within Windows. You're welcome for the reply!
