Hi. Hoping some one knows a good software to help recover 150 movies I had on my hard drive. Was late and I didn't realize I was formatting the wrong HD. On windows 10, just did a quick format and have not done anything else to the drive since. Hoping someone had some good ideas / news.

You should be able to get them back 100% as long as you didn't write to the disk. A quick format doesn't effect the files.

Should be recoverable without much issues with some of the tools listed. You will probably lose the filenames and/or directory structures, but the actual files will still be there.

I've had to recover a few of my drives several times this past year. In fact, I need to run it again on a drive that corrupted just the other day, just need a spare drive before I can do that. It's an issue with a faulty USB hot swap sled that I have, which I only use for convenience.

But anyway, I tried a half dozen recovery programs when that sled starting having issues. Lost a lot of data in the trial and error process of restoring partitions and what not, but the one I've found most successful is GetDataBack Simple. It's not free (however it is free to try), but keep it in mind if nothing else is working for you.

Also remember to never recover files to the drive you are recovering from.

I used Disk Drill from http://www.cleverfiles.com/ to recover a movie folder of 16 movie. I could recover all but for two movies I had to recover twice as first time they were partly recover and had missing part.
I was lucky to get back all the movies.
