Recover data from corrupted file system?

I think my data drive's file system is corrupted. When I try to copy files over to another drive, I get either CRC error or "cannot read file from source". I don't think it's a hardware failure because I don't hear any strange noises. Is there any way I can recover data from my corrupted drive? These data are very important so any input would be greatly appreciated!
