Recover data from an Encrypted NTFS Drive

Short story...

Motherboard died, Hard drive looks to be healthy. System drive was put in an external enclosure to pull some data off but access is denied due to NTFS permissions.

Currently the goal is to rebuild the system with a used board from the same era (2002 supposedly) but tracking one down could take a while. Is there a way to get access to this data in the mean time?

*Edit*

I tried this with no success.

If it's just NTFS permissions you can take ownership as a local admin and all is well but if they're encrypted you won't be able to decrypt them without the key from the installation that encrypted them.
