Recoring tv shows in HD

I am looking to buy a video capture card and record some sweet TV shows on my PC, especially since i have over a terabyte of hd space. I want to get a really good one that can record video in a really high quality or even HD if those exist. I plan on buying the new high end ati R520 that is supposed to have some sort of HD support. But I'm hoping someone can suggest a nice card that i can stick a coaxial cable into and record in a high quality, or if i would somehow be able to do the same thing with the new R520. tia

You could get something like the DVICO Fusion 5 Lite, which allows you to receive HDTV over the air (antenna) or unencrypted transmissions over cable (QAM). Recording HDTV is actually not that processor-intensive; all it entails is saving an exact copy of the transport stream that the tuner receives, no encoding required. Transport streams for HD (720p/1080i) are generally about 6-8GB per hour. The Fusion 5 Lite is $99 or so.

I can probably answer any more questions if you have them (I have an HDTV tuner myself and use it to record from time to time).
