Recording Xbox360 gameplay on PC

What do you guys who are experienced recommend? I would like to record in HD at 720p being the minimum.

The two pieces I have heard about most are Hauppauge HD PVR and Avermedia Gamecapture HD.

I do have a desktop in the same room as the 360 (about 8 feet away). I also have a laptop I can use to record for any device but would prefer using the desktop to record.

I am not sure what I should go with. My budget is to remain below $200. So anything under that would be fine.

Thanks in advance.

IMHO I am waiting for the Game Broadcaster card coming out from AverMedia. Lots use the Hauppauge or Blackmagic Intensity Pro.

Intereseting. Never heard of that. Thanks for letting me know. I will definitely do some research on that.

Seems like Avermedia is coming with new products meanwhile Hauppauge has had the same unit since 2008.

I've been using the HD-PVR from Hauppauge for recording game play ( amount other things ) from my XBox and PS3 for over 2yrs now. It's simply works flawlessly...and has damn near lossly recording capabilities. Component with pass-thru enables full 1080i and 720p recording...and I've even ready that the passthru has some video noise filters which can clean-up the video and make it look better.
