Recording Tv Shows

I have a Radeon 64MB VIVO. I would lik eot use the Video In to record some TV show, sort of like a PVR. I knwo that it can't change channels or anything. I would like to record a show that is on during the day when I am at work. Is there any way I can schedule the Radeon to record the show? If so, what program will I need to do this? If it can't be done with the Radeon, can it be done with a TV card?

Thanks,

Chris

You would use MMC and specifically the "Video In" application and a VCR hooked to your composite video-in connector and the audio-in of your sound card. Go to the schedule Tab in the Video-in "setup" and "create new" and just simply follow the wizard. Make sure you leave your video source on, or program it to start prior to recording and provided your system clock time is correct, and that you have enough free hardrive space, you should be in business.

Excellent. Thank you very much.

I am getting a 100GB drive for xmas and now that I think of it I might do more recording than I thought. Can anyone recommend a good TV Tuner card? I am looking at the Hauppauge Win-TV ones now.

I know I can do that, but I would like to be able to change the channel as well. I don't think I can schedule my VCR to change the channel without recording.

Thanks,

Chrix
