Recording telephone converstations

wyvrn

Lifer
I need to record one for a creditor problem. I know of the ones that plug into the handset cord, but we use cordless telephones. Is there a device I can just plug into the RJ11 phone jack? Also, anyone know the legalities of recording phone convos in TX?

Depends on your STATE law (if the call is intrastate).
For instance, in some states as long as one party to the conversation gives their consent, it is legal.

I always had an idea of a way to get around this.

Put them on hold, and play a message that says "this call will be recorded...yadda yadda yadda", and then pick back up

There is a device that you can get from radio shack that plugs inline into a rj11, and has a 1/8th input and output jack on it.

We used that device for much fun when working on the phones years ago.
