Recording surround sound

It would be neat to make some Quake 4 movies and record the surround sound to go along with them. Any ideas? I am using the KX project Audigy 2 drivers. Additionally, what is ASIO2? Will that help me with what I need to do? I have a 5.1 system and headphones. I wondered if there was any amount of wire-rerouting that I could do to make this work. I could get each channel one at a time by playing the 'demo' over again, but I don't know how to get anything other than the left and right front channels. Thanks for helping a n00b.
