recording streaming & outputting to tv

1) I am going to subscribe to NHL Center Ice Online but since I have 2 newborns I cannot be sitting in front of my PC the entire time uninterrupted. I need to be able to capture the stream (2.5 hrs at a time) so I can watch later if need be. The tv version of Center Ice is not available for me here. What are my options? I have a Hauppauge HVR-1800 but dont' think this will help me in this case.

2) I have an ATI 4850. If I want to output my PC screen to a tv, is it as simple as using the s-video -> composite cable?

outputting video to a tv is the easy part. recording a stream is tricky. try looking at http://www.videohelp.com/ and http://www.avsforum.com/

Internet has been around for so long yet no consistent streaming video recording method has been devised... yikes. Anyone tried streambox vcr?
