Remember when all you naïve Trump fanbois claimed there was no such plan and Republicans would never do this. Well Devin Nunes in a closed to press fundraiser admitted there is a plan but implementing is all based on timing.
Hard-line conservative Republicans in the House recently hit a roadblock in their effort to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein when Speaker Paul Ryan opposed the move. But one of those conservatives, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., gave a different explanation to donors recently when asked why the impeachment effort had stalled.

He said it's because an impeachment would delay the Senate's confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, made the statement in an audio recording surreptitiously made by a member of a progressive group who attended a Republican fundraiser on July 30 in Spokane, Washington. The recording was obtained by the Rachel Maddow Show and was played on MSNBC on Wednesday night. Asked about the the impeachment plans, Nunes told a questioner that "it's a bit complicated" because "we only have so many months left."

So the plan is to do it after the election and after Kavanaugh is seated on the SC. The only thing that will stop this is to Vote Democratic or else the Mueller investigation will grind to a halt.

Whatever conservative that believes the House GOP wouldn't do this (and is actually in support of the rule of law) is a fukin idiot.

There is an alternate possiblity that Nunes is lying, as he's trying to gin up the fundraisers to open the wallets.

He also speaks as if they think there is a big danger of losing the house, and that donors need to open their wallets, so they can keep all the corruption and graft going.

Either way... Dems have to win in the fall and send all the crooks to prison.

Please. There's no way that the GOP would get 67 votes in the Senate to convict Rosenstein. I'm not worried about it at all.

Nunes is correct in saying the GOP is intent on seating Kavanaugh before the new term of office. It's their #1 priority. Should they lose the Senate they'll slam it through as lame ducks.

That’s a secret? Of course anything related to Mueller has to wait until after the election and ideally when a new judge is seated.

Impeaching Rosenstein isn’t a thing. Nunes is attempting to undermine he investigation into Trump, but not in this way.

Nunes is an enormous threat to our country who needs to be removed at all costs, he’s just not a threat because of this.

What happens when the dunces that bought into token woman republican leader and the Nunes BS that impeachment in the senate would delay the seating of their supreme court nominee and must therefore only take place after the judge is seated is seen to be just that, pure bull shit.

Nunes is lying because convicting Rosenstein is functionally impossible as you need two thirds in the senate to do it.

What’s more telling is that Nunes thinks a fake attempt to undermine federal law enforcement is something he should be doing. I know he’s in a safe district but this guy is a cancer on democracy.

What you are hearing is conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice. It will not surprise me if some house republicans end up being indicted. They are not above the law.

I think the only thing that came out of these recordings is that the chairman of the House Intel Committee basically admitted his main concern is protecting the President, and not conducting a fair and impartial congressional investigation into the truth about Russian meddling.

Basically, stuff we already knew.

Kinda wrong. Impeachment begins in the House and the trial is in the Senate. Trump could use an impeachment trial as his excuse to fire Rosenstein or force Sessions to "un-recuse" himself. All done without the 2/3 it talks for guilty verdict.

As long as they are supporting this President they kind of are though. Anyone that could arrest or charge them works for the person they are putting their necks out to protect.

Nunes will run and win this November. If the House becomes majority Dem, then Nunes should be impeached. They won't have the balls, but they should.

Let us not forget the political implications of this.

Trump is not some distinct, malignant thing growing on the side of the GOP. Republicans have endorsed, supported, and gone full Trump. The Republican Party IS Trump - and their actions continue to say it every day. We must hold them accountable in sharing the infamy and disgrace that follows.

This. We cannot allow the GOP to suddenly distance themselves from Trump after the fact. They must be held accountable for him, with the exception of those who stood up to during THIS time.

As I said in another thread, when my father got to Germany in 1945 something amazing happened: Suddenly no one was a Nazi.

From the information that has surfaced about what our top federal law enforcement officials were doing, I'd say they beat Nunes to the punch on the undermining part.

You mean all that info (that requires a lot of faith and conspiracy to believe) that ONLY right-wing media is talking about...that information?

Says someone who hasn't actually read any of the official reports but has downloaded the right wing talking points.

Speaking of Devin, looks like he's getting bothered by protesters, such a shame being a public accountable figure

https://www.rawstory.com/2018/08/no...ammed-calling-police-protesting-constituents/

Devin Nunes (R-CA) was publicly called out for misusing 9-1-1 by beckoning police to shield him from constituents in his central valley congressional district.
“Clovis police were called and the building housing Congressman Devin Nunes’ office was locked during a rally for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security on Tuesday,” the Fresno Bee reported.

I don't think elected officials can be impeached but the House Committees can supeona his ass for all the lying and sneaking around the White House smuggling documents back and forth. If he lies then he can be charged.
