recording live TV?

Is there a way to record TV from a card that doesn't explicitly support it? The TV software does let me capture stills...

Which card? You might be better of getting a card which does. Huappauge WinTV for example; it's not that expensive.

i have a hauppauge wintv Go... go figure, i'm an idiot who didn't RTFM . Any tips on how to get AMCAP to capture audio properly?

edit: got that worked out too

thanks. I wonder where that high-pitched noise comes from.
