Recording in-game footing, editing, etc

Just curious, I don't actually need instructions on how to do it right now, just wondering what kinds of programs you need and how much they cost.

One, simple recording of in game events, what kind of programs do you do that with? I assume there are free programs that will do this, can video recordings taken by those programs be edited by the programs referenced in question 3?

Two, simple screenshots and screenshots editing.

Three, Editing of ingame video, including adding voiceovers, whether the voiceover software is the same software or extra. You know, like the Halo videos you've seen with guys in the Spartan armor talking to each other.

And when you see even a 2 minute video of this type, is that something 1 person can do or is it likely a small team of people did it?

And one person can easily do it with some creativity.
If you go to www.dragonwolves.com and click the videos section on the left, there are numerous Planetside/World of Warcraft videos there. We did those almost 5 years ago. Been a while, but it's been a long time since we've been able to collectively play one game that we all agree on.

Some games also have a built in video recorder. I know all source games do and its 100 times better than using FRAPs for it.
