Hey folks, is it possible (and how would you do it) to copy an audio CD from a CD player to PC using optical link? I have a CD player with an optical SPDIF/TosLink output, and my Audigy Platinum has an SPDIF/TosLink input. The reason I want to do this is because the CD has that FUBAR copy protection (Key2Audio or something like that) and I want to rip some of the tracks for a compilation CD. My CD drives in my PC can't read it. What software would I need?

You can copy the audio with the optical link... but as audio only, no track info. Just hit record on the pc then play the song you want to copy. When it's done stop the recording and trim off the silence at each end of the clip. Any audio editing software will do... I use cooledit.
