Record more than 60sec with Windows Recorder?

is there a way you can configure 'windows recorder' so you can record offf your mic for more than 60 sec?

mine automaticallys adjusts for more time when it reaches 60 seconds... then it goes up to 117 seconds, and when it gets there moves the max up ato 140 seconds---

so i assume it could just keep on recording until i ran out of memory

I had this same problem and this is what I did.

It's real crude.

I let it record for a few seconds and then click my mouse near the end of the time status bar. Doing so it jumped the time of recording up a few seconds and puts the time status bar notch back to where it was before you clicked.

Do this over and over and it creates a blank clip a lot longer than 60 seconds.

Now record over this blank clip.

I was able to get 4 minutes this way.

Just wondering, why is 60s the default? Does it have to do with copyright issues?
