Record LOW voter turnout in Hawaii

What's a record low turnout for an election in Hawaii? 20%? 25%? Try 52.6%... beating the previous low of 57%. Wow. In a country where we are practically celebrating a 40% voter turnout, Hawaii is disappointed in a 52% turnout.

There's an example there somewhere... Link
Statewide, the voter turnout was 52.6 percent, with 348,299 out of 662,728 registered voters actually casting ballots for the general election. The statewide turnout was a new low. The previous low was 57 percent, set in 2002.

In the 2004 elections, with the draw of a presidential race, 67 percent of island voters cast ballots. In Maui County, the 2004 general election drew 47,757, or 61.6 percent of the 77,488 total registered voters.

Heh... interesting joke(?) for someone who is so rabidly concerned with the integrity of our electoral process.

That is because every vote counts in canada. In the us I bet less then 5% of race are contested.

How many youth know the first thing about what they are voting for? Why is 24% bad?

If we got rid of the electoral college system I'd vote. In the meantime though it's fairly pointless if you don't live in a swing state (for national elections anyway).

Seriously, no matter how I vote in a presidential election I know new york would go blue, lol.

How many adults actually know what they are voting for? I know a lot of old farts that voted that have no idea what is going on in the world.
