I've knoticed more and more often that when i download a song (that i of course own a real copy of) it is ok for the first 30 seconds then it either is filled with long minutes of silence, long minutes of like static or shrieeking sounds, or 30-second loops of a song's chorus...Is there any way to get around this?

Stop downloading then, rip your own CD, it's not hard and its faster than downloading from slow ass Kazaa.

No, those are bad files that you downloaded. Yes, it is the RIAA screwing with downloaders. They've been putting out these fake files for quite some time.

get kazaa's file verifier. You're downloading the shite they inject on the network to dissatisfy users. The verify app compares/filters files that are known to be good.

i just started ripping all my cds to WMA9 Lossless, its great there is no quailty difference between that and the cd and i get all the tags and album art automagically. the best part is if i ever want to re encode them in some other bitrate or format its like haveing the original source.

Nah just recently started running into more and more of these, just was wondering if there was a good solution to the problem. I know Kazza Lite people put out Sig2dat, which is a great solution yet its very manual in that you have to go find hash's yourself, which is a waste of time and a bitch with popups everywhere. Even the hash section on Kazza Lite's own forums is so limited. So i was wondering if mabey someone combined the sig2dat idea with kazza lite itself and made an all in one automatic solution to stop the download of false files.
