record audio from firewire on the fly?

i'll keep experimenting with the recording pins on the audigy card, but is there any known way to record audio from the camcorder without hooking up more connections (like composite video/audio cables) to the pc?

also (pretty much on the same topic) is there a way to listen to audio without recording? like a recording pin monitor of sorts...?

Does the camcorder have a firewire or usb link? If not you'd have to use analog, but that can be one on the fly too.
