Record audio CD left channel only

I have an audio CD that has tracks that are "mixed".. left channel is the background music, while right channel is the voice (the actual singing).

How can I re-record these tracks with the left channel only, using Windows Media Player? Do I need another type of software for this purpose?

I want to play this on a CD player (which does NOT have L/R balance) and have kids sing-along to it!

Thanks

Just record it normally, and then use any number of wave editors to strip out the right channel. Then resave it.

So basically, convert it to .WAV, and find a freeware wave editor to strip out the right channel?

THat sounds easy, I think I can handle that.

Thanks!
