and I'm wondering, do you recommend it cuz it's a hot deal or because they offer good service and such? Just wondering.

I've had RippleHost since early this year and have had no downtime or other problems, it just works. So yes, I would say they have good service in addition to being a hot deal.

Ripplehost does not offer very quick support and I am currently experiencing my 2nd downtime in 5 months.

Go to AddAction.net and get thee The Plan option.

I have 3 domains with Ripplehost. All personal pages of family/friends I am administrating. I recomend it to anyone that is just setting up a page to play with and maybe do some small picture posting and blogging. My page is ripplehost too. You can check out the speed from the link in my sig.

There have been a few outages/burps in service that I have noticed. Nothing major. Plus the support from ripplehost is non-exhistant. You basically buy the account and are left to other users in the forum to answer any questions. If you feel like a self starter/self learner that wants a cheap account to play around with, go with ripplehost. If you need a little more handholding or have a site that needs 24/7 uptime and security, I would go with addaction or get a bunch of people together and go with Datahorn.

For the price per year what others charge per month, what else can you really expect?

Kinda an on topic question (in off-topic none the less)...

Did Ripplehost finally stop their $5/year deal and raise it back up to 10?

Ripplehost is great. But don't expect them to hold your hand when setting up your site. It's all automated, and that's why it's cheap. Support is via a forum that gets checked every so often. They hope that the customers help each other out whenever possible.

If you want Dell support, find one of the more expensive places. Crankit.net had good support. But like $10 a month.

I've had a family site for sharing photos on Ripplehost for half a year now. Seems to run just fine and serve it's purpose. Even had a message board you could instal. For the price, it's great. I wouldn't open a new E-commerce site on there, but just general picture pages or small personal webspaces are fine for Ripplehost.

Woah $9.99 a YEAR....that's excellent value....may have to change I think!...damn, just paid my renewal too....well it's monthly based but charged all in one go so I can probably get a refund!

Trouble is...I have just over 120mb of site...and am planning on some new items? they not do a higher package....can you take out two hosting packages and get 200mb?

Jamie - No upgrades are offered, what you see is what you get.

If you can live without cPanel control panel I would suggest http://www.e-rice.net/ for $9.99/yr you get 150MB/3GB and better support.

I didn't want to offend you or something, I was just wondering.
