recommended Socket 754 Mobos

I'm considering a Athlon 64 3000+ ($172 at newegg) for a major system upgrade. Any thoughts? Specifically on the mobo? Any gotchas moving from an XP system? Anything from my current system I can't use in the new one?

Current system:

AMD Barton 3000+ w/11.5x200fsb 2160MHz @ 2305MHz
Motherboard: FIC AU13
Memory: 1536 MB of OCZ PC3200 (DDR400)
Video Card: GeForce4 Ti 4600
Hard Drive: Maxtor Ultra 120.0 GB @ 7200 RPMS
Sound Card: Onboard Soundstorm
Standard 10 bay ATX case with 550w power supply and good air flow

You appear to like a good budget board so have a look at the Epox 8DA3J and Soltek SL-K8N2E-GR.

I concur.. 2 good options
I can't think of anything else, other than maybe the Chaintech, or maybe the KV8 Pro from Abit, but that is a little more money IIRC.
