i'm looking for a relatively easy to use program that'll let me do the following things:
avi to mpg conversion
seperate a segment of video (i.e. take say the middle 3 minutes out of a 10 minute clip) either by time or by frame and save as a new file
join seperate mpg or avi files together (at least one or the other)
layer video segments over a seperate audio track (like something you would do to make a music video)
if anyone can recommend a program that can do these things (or combination of programs) i would greatly appreciate it. i have adobe premiere 6 but i can't get it to do the things i want without changing the file into some huge space hog on my hard drive. i've tried other programs such as the free mpg joiners out there, but most will corrupt the audio in my files.
so again if you can recommend anything or tell me some tricks to make this easier, please reply. thanks in advance
