Recommended partitioning of my drives? WinXP

Hi there,

I just picked up two 120gb drives, and after reading about different options, have decided to create a mirrored set (RAID 1?) under Windows XP Professional that I will be installing on them. I have no particular reason other than my own sanity to consider partitioning the drives to create extra drive letters, perhaps a D and maybe even an E. Basic questions...

1) Is there any problem with my simply running a C-drive = 120gb?
2) Is there any real benefit to partitioning to 2 60gb partitions? 80/40gb?
3) Should I go even farther and go 40/40/40gb? 8/56/56?

Any other things I should be aware of when setting up a mirrored set under Windows XP Professional?

Thanks!
James

I'll try to answer with a little more insight...

1) There is no problem with this at all. The only real issues (not problems, just things to think about) are defrag times and backup issue. It is far easier to make a backup of your OS and common programs (things you ALWAYS ues) onto CD should there ever be a problem that requires a complete reinstall. Or if you just want to completely reinstall. A smaller (I use 20GB) partition leaves my data intact on a seperate partition should a problem arise or should I need/want to reinstall and allows for speedy defrags. I just like to be a little more organized so I keep data seperate than my OS/programs. This is by no means the best/only way for everyone. It works for me.

2 and 3) There is no "real" benefit I guess. I find benefit in seperate partitions to keep myself better organized. Nothing more. Everyone will find a "system" that works best for them.
