Is it the XP90/120 people most likely say? I have seen this designation thown around while reading lots of threads.

I currently have the SI-97 from Thermalright for the XP-M.

Does it matter which xp-90? I see there is a more expensive copper version on Xoxide.

You don't need the copper version. The cheaper one is just as effective for all intents and purposes.

If you buy the retail version of the Opteron, it comes with this "copper"-ish heatpipe thing. It might look ok in the pictures, but in real life, it looks pretty cheap! nevertheless, I'm still using it and I can't believe i'm achieving lower temp readings than other people with opterons. ::shrug::

Temp sensors are usually very inaccurate, that's why :)

Oh, & for best price/performance heatsink, go with the TTBT (Thermaltake Big Typhoon)

Yes i know. I should be somewhat worried. But I don't think that all other people using the same mobo as I am are using thermal probes or some other method of reading their temps other than the mobo temp sensors. So, relative to their temps, mine seems little.... of course, this is based on the assumption that mine isn't broken :(

I would go with xp90 non-copper version. I think it works well for its price (~$28 bucks!)

d00d, my post wasn't made to make you worried about your HSF being inadequate.

Stock HSF is perfectly fine unless you are pouring too much vcore into your CPU :)

Does the typhoon or the the zalman 9500 have any problems with the dfi lanparty nf4 boards? a.k.a. covering the ram dimm slots?

I recommend the new Thermalright SI-120

I just changed from the Big Typhoon and temperatures are similar, but the SI-120 is MUCH EASIER to install.

The Typhoon fits on the DFI mainboard but it is very difficult to install due to POOR ENGINEERING skills from Thermalkate. You have to apply some He-Man force during its installation and I almost destroyed my mobo due to a loose screwdrivers. I was very lucky and because of that would never bother to install a Typhoon again.

I tried the SI-120 on both a SLI-DR and the new SLI DR Expert board.

Easy, painless installation (1 minute) and plenty of room for your ram sticks. Also nice cooling for the components nearby.

I am running the SI-120 on a Opt.170 clocked to 2.6GHz @1.48V. Temperatures are 28C iddle 38 Load on an Antec P160 case.

Have to update my signature ;)

Is the XP-120 the same size as the SI-97 that I have for my XP system?

I have a tower case. Someday I will probably switch to something more appropriate since all the fan outlets on the back are at the top of the case, with a divider where I have placed the drives in front just lying in a bracket since they don't mesh well with the RAM / etc. The PSU is on the same level and it sucks air directly from the SI-97 with a hole that is sits over that is in the divider and the PSU blows air out the back.
I have a case fan blowing air out as well above the PSU.

The case is overkill for what I have, and the layout conflicts with current setup of drives and RAM placement if I were to put the drives in the first level.
It works. At least the SI-97 just fits.

Stock aint so bad.. I can run 2500Mhz with it. over 1.5V or 2500Mhz I would recommend the four listed above as well. HS are prett damn expensive for maginal improvments IMO.
