Hi all,

Anyone here can recommend a relatively good HSF for Celerons 800-900?

THanks.

I'm using the fan that came with the boxed version and it works fine. got it O/c to 1066 with ease.

Edit: I have a Cely 800 Retail

use the fan that came w/ your CPU... it's even enough for mild o/c

you don't haveto shell out cash. since celery's doesn't gives off too much heat, don't worry bout HSF..the retail fan is decent.. :)

Wow, that's new to hear. Since you most of you guys are o/cing yer CPUs with the retail heatsink, what is your room's ambient temperature? (in Celcius if you don't mind)

Dreben: When I put mine on 1066 (also got boxed 800 cD0 stepping on P2B BX board with slocket at 1.8v (box said 1.75v but my P2B doesn't support that) it runs fine.. windows and all.. Seti.. doesn't really get hot at all .. even a whole night and day of seti etc' works fine.. but when I play a game like Castle of Wolfenstein (and Unreal Tournament did the same on me .. tho tested only once) my pc hangs after 30min. Setting the voltage to 1.9v or 1.95v didn't made any difrence.. well just some more heat.
You maybe got any idea on what I can do to make it stable?

BX boards should work just fine in 133Mhz mode.. giving PCI bus it's normal 33.3(1?)Mhz etc'.. AGP can be higher but I figured the ASUS V7700 GTS Deluxe can handle it at 2x AGP and no sideband (sideband gave sometimes problems on 133+Mhz bus speed .. all cards in tests without sideband enabled worked just fine so can't be my video card)
Playing Midtown Madness 2 for hours didn't gave me any problems.. ?!?!?! so i'm really lost here.

Btw, got 512 MB (256*2) 133Mhz SDRAM and a Quantum Fireball SE 8.4Gig (yup, pretty old by now.. but since 133Mhz is divided correct on the BX .. setting PCI etc' at normal speeds I figured that the IDE things wouldn't be a problem either, copy'ing files etc' go's just fine too.. about everything does except those 2 games.. no others tried yet)

The stock HSF s/b sufficient, or other comparable fans can be had for not much money that will do the job. Cooler Master's DP5-6I31A comes to mind for about $15 shipped.
