Recommended DVD software?

What's the best software for backing up / copying DVDs?
Also what's best for playing dvds on pc..win xp pro?

I've never backed up a DVD, but I do see alot of threads that rave about DVD Shrink (ripping) and Nero (burning).

As far as playing the DVD on your PC, most around here use either WinDVD or PowerDVD.
